Accommodation
Built in 1870, the building formed part of a hotel for the marketeers. The high position of the garden and pool area above the neighbouring street made it an ideal position for the horse buyers to observe their perspective purchases trotting back and forth below.
The then named Rue de Trottoirs was renamed Rue St Pierre when the trading ceased. It has been the home for a reclusive Spanish refugee who threw a champagne celebration for the town residents at the fall of Franco and for many to this day it remains known as the “Maison de Dentiste” which belies its most recent occupancy.

A really excellent apartment in the beautiful village of Monpazier. The apartment was really well finished with everything you could wish for to make your stay enjoyable. The outside pool area was lovely, the pool nice and clean and the patio area very welcoming.

The apartment is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable. The bed is excellent! Derek and Mandy go the extra mile to ensure their guests are well cared for and attend to every detail. The shared pool is a lovely place to relax at the end of the day and we ate most of our meals at the table outside.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful week staying at La Maison Anglaise but sadly today we move on. The downstairs one bedroom apartment was perfect in every way; comfortable, well appointed and perfectly located in the heart of Monpazier.
